Mark Parelius is the founder and President of Parelius Insurance Services. For the last nineteen years, Mark has been helping business owners by providing sound insurance advice and superior products with a caring attitude and exceptional service. Mark is an alumnus of University of Santa Clara, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Management.

Devoted to his wife Sandra and their five children, Lucas, Michaella, Theodore, Elliot, and Eli resides in Santa Clara. In his free time, he coaches Lucas' baseball team and Michaella's soccer team. He also enjoys golfing, running and volunteering his time for his parish church.

After receiving her Bachelors of Science Degree in Education, Marilyn spent several years in the insurance specialty area of workers' compensation defense litigation. Marilyn joined Parelius Insurance in the fall of 2000. Although new to the health benefits side of insurance, Marilyn always strives to put the customer first in her prompt responses to their questions or problems.

Although a native of California, she has lived in the east, mid-west and southern parts of the country. A close second to her love of animals is her love of travel. Vacations will most often find her in Hawaii enjoying the magnificent waters, vistas and aloha spirit.

Before joining the Parelius team in January of 2003, Matt worked at another broker for three years. His experience in both the Broker Services and New Business departments has given Matt valuable knowledge about the underwriting process. He is well versed with the different carriers and their variety of plans, and has the ability to easily disseminate information making him a valuable asset to the Parelius team.

Maria joined Parelius in October of 2006 and brought 20 years of brokerage experience. She has a broad range of experience and knowledge is committed to offering the Diamond Certified customer service. She began her career as an underwriter and gravitated to the Account Management role 10 years ago. She is licensed and is bright, creative and a team player. Currently Maria is assigned to the large groups as her experience fits well there and she has brought some great suggestions and ideas to Parelius. When she is not working, you will find her spending quality time with her husband Isaac and three sons, Shane, Cordell and Garrett.

Karlee is a new graduate from CSU, Monterey Bay with a degree in Communications specializing in Practical and Professional Ethics. She is new to Broker services and as the Client Representative, Karlee provides support to our Account Managers and maintains excellent customer service by assisting customers when they call our office. As she continues to gain professional experience, Karlee’s goal is to become more proficient with Benefits Administration and Insurance Services.

Karlee’s interests outside the office include fishing and playing competitive tennis. She plans to obtain her Master’s Degree in Human Resources Administration within the next few years.

Jennifer is new to Broker services, however brings with her over 10 years of Human Resources experience in Corporate HR. Her primary knowledge in Benefits Administration and HRIS Management provides a great asset to Parelius. HRIS Administration will allow Parelius to provide many additional services and administration to their clients.

Working part time at Parelius allows Jennifer to give an equal balance to work and personal life with her husband and 2 children. She is very involved in their extra-curricular activities and maintains a council position with a local non-profit organization.

Karli Blaydes joined Parelius Insurance Services in August 2008 as our Client Representative. Karli brings with her 15 years experience in a variety of administrative positions, most recently as an Administrative Specialist at a private school. She has demonstrated excellent customer service skills and organizational abilities.  She is completely at ease in a busy office environment and is enthusiastic about her job.  Her goal is to become adept in handling all of our client’s insurance needs. 

Karli and her husband are proud parents of two boys; Colin and Owen.  Karli is active in her children’s parent participation school, their sports activities and Cub Scouts.  To balance out her busy schedule Karli likes to read, watch movies, hike and camp.
